Why this matters
If we’re asking people to show up in real life — to meet, connect, and be part of something —
then trust isn’t optional.
It’s everything.
At Flocker, we’re not just building another app.
We’re building a space where people feel comfortable enough to step out from behind their screens and actually connect.
That only works if people feel:
- safe
- respected
- and in control of their experience
Your information is yours. Period.
We want to be very clear about this:
We will never sell your personal information.
Not now. Not later. Not “in some version of the business model.”
Your data is not the product.
Flocker is built around real-life experiences — not around tracking you, profiling you, or monetizing your personal information behind the scenes.
Real people > bots
A big part of what’s broken in social platforms today is simple:
You don’t always know who’s real.
Fake accounts. Bots. Spam.
It damages trust fast.
We’re taking a different approach.
From the beginning, we’re prioritizing:
- real users
- real interactions
- real events
This includes:
- thoughtful onboarding
- intentional friction where it matters
- and systems designed to reduce fake or low-quality activity
Because if people are going to meet in real life, they need to feel confident about who they’re interacting with.
Safety isn’t an afterthought
Trust and safety aren’t features we add later.
They’re part of how Flocker is being built from day one.
We’re thinking about:
Clear expectations for behavior
What’s acceptable, what’s not, and how we handle issues quickly and fairly.
Smart systems + human oversight
Using technology to help detect issues early, and having real people involved, especially as we grow.
Continuous improvement
We know we won’t get everything perfect on day one.
But we are committed to learning, adjusting, and improving as the community grows.
You control your experience
We believe people should feel in control of how they show up.
That means:
- choosing what to share
- deciding what to join
- and feeling comfortable opting in or out
Flocker is about making it easier to connect — not forcing interaction or overexposing personal information.
Building this the right way
It would be easier to:
- remove friction
- grow fast
- and deal with trust and safety later
But that’s not how we’re approaching this.
Because once trust is broken, it’s almost impossible to rebuild.
We’d rather:
- be thoughtful early
- build the right foundations
- and create something that actually lasts
What this all comes down to
Flocker only works if people feel comfortable showing up.
Not just downloading an app –
but actually walking into a room, a park, a rooftop, a meetup… and feeling good about it.
That requires trust.
And we take that seriously.
So what are we really building?
We’re building something simple, but powerful:
A way for people to stop watching life happen…
and actually be part of it.
Scroll less. Show up more.
Be part of it
We’re still early, and we’re building this with the people who believe in it.
